Wedding #6 - Our Big Day

Well it is finally here - the post that many of you have been eagerly awaiting, and the post that I have been most anxious about - the big reveal. A very happy Wedding Wednesday to you all....

Venue: The Swan Hotel (Bibury, Gloucestershire)
Florist: Jayne Pugh (David Austin Roses used)
Make-up: We Are Make-up Artists (MAC make-up used)
Hair: Laura Leigh (hair roses from Jayne Pugh)
Chair Covers: The Chair Tailor (and Brides Mum)
Candelabra & Plinths (hired): Jayne Pugh
Brides Dress: Just For You Bridal
Bridesmaids Dresses: Elderberry Bridesmaids (included bags)
Grooms/Groomsman Suits: Slaters (full outfits)
Brides Shrug: House of Fraser
Brides Jewellery: Debenhams

Just a couple of things to say....

A few of the photographs above were by wedding guests, but the vast majority are the professional shots by Richard Barley.

There are some things that I could not find pictures of - like our amazing pianist, Steve Christie. He played me down the aisle, throughout the ceremony, and throughout the breakfast, and he was unbelievable. The best non-famous pianist (who really should be) that I have ever come across - you can take that from someone who used to play herself. Highly, highly recommended, so please go and visit his site and have a listen.

I have tried to cover everything here, but if anyone has any questions, please fire away and I will do my best to help.

Lastly, for those of you who perhaps missed our previous wedding posts, you can check them out here: The Venue, Attire, BeautyFlowers & Decor, and Cake & Favours.

Next week will be our last Wedding Wednesday post, which will cover Our Honeymoon. Complete with breath-taking pictures, and destination details.

  4. Thank you Caroline, Kim, and Catherine, I am so pleased that you enjoyed the post. It was so nerve wracking publishing such personal pictures, so I am relieved that you enjoyed it all. We were very lucky with the weather since it was actually forecast to be terrible! The bridge pic is my favourite too Catherine. Thank you all so much for taking the time to comment xxx

  8. Dear Kaitie

As I have just written on Facebook, this is EXACTLY the wedding I want!! The photography is amazing - I was just showing Mike and said it's like looking at something in a magazine.

I love the colours of the flowers, the dress. It's my favourite colour I think, a sort of oyster / shell / soft pink / peach colour (hard to put into words).

So many things stand out it's hard to pick individual things to comment on... I love the back of your dress, what a beautiful shape. The detail everywhere - the lovely chairs in the ceremony room, the little flowers in the twigs in the background everywhere. The cake! A lovely combination of traditional and fairycakes.

    Kaitie, I LOVE it.

  9. Wow, what a lovely set of comments - thank you all so much for taking the time to leave me these, and for all of your kind words, I am truly touched. I am so, so pleased you enjoyed this post so much, and it was an absolute pleasure to share it with you all.

Charlotte - thank you so much! The photography is really special - the way Richard captured everything so naturally, and how nothing was staged. I am so honoured that this has inspired you so much - I love that you love it xx

  10. Kate, you make such a beautiful bride, both your wedding and your honeymoon look stunning, it sounds like you had a truly amazing time, and the pictures you have to remember it all by are just gorgeous. By the way my mum and dad got married at the Swan hotel in Bibury too, (thirty years ago, so it might have changed a bit by now! hehe.) A big congratulations to you both, hope you have a lovely Christmas together! Jenny xxx

  11. Jenny - thank you so much for your lovely, lovely comment. It is so great to hear from you, and I really appreciate you taking the time to leave me your thoughts. I am so pleased that you enjoyed the posts, and that is amazing that your parents got married at The Swan 30 years ago! Not very many people have known of Bibury, so it is so special to hear things like this. I hope that you had a wonderful Christmas too xxx
